10 INTERIORS WITH WOOD PANELING

January 10, 2020
  • Share

Today is all about incredible spaces with dark wood paneling. As winter is in full swing I have been more attracted to darker and cozier interiors. I’ve been pinning and saving images as I find them and I have acquired enough images to make a post over the last few weeks! There is just something about dark wood paneling that adds a winter feeling. Here are 10 amazing interiors that take wood paneling to the next level. These rooms are far from your grandma’s basement!

First up is a study with an elaborate sitting area. This room is extremely luxurious and upscale thanks to the furniture and decor. The addition of wood paneling makes this room cozier and warmer. I can imagine curling up on the couch and reading a book for a few hours. The window is the perfect addition to keep this room from being too dark.

Next up is a beautiful dining room from a home in Venice. The combination of window, paneling, and the stained glass light fixture is a bit vintage looking but the addition of the table, chairs, and rug add a modern twist. The wood paneling in this room has a gorgeous variation of tones and looks amazing with the lighting.

Just when you though wood paneling couldn’t look good in a bathroom this design proves us wrong! The super dark tone and wide panels create a luxurious and expensive feeling. That is complemented by the architecture of the room, the gold accents, and the dainty sink. I think this bathroom is the poster child for using wood paneling correctly.

Can you even imagine a cozier cabin bedroom? I wish I could take a fall road trip to this home and stay for a weekend! The wood paneling in this room is definitely dark but the all-white bedding balances it out well. I love the wider panels and the mix of colors in the wood. It feels so cozy and seasonal.

This interior takes wood paneling to a luxurious and upscale level. The dark and sleek nature of the wood looks great in this space. The gold ceiling and accents create a nice contrast to all of the dark colors. The white fur on the benches also adds a nice detail to the overall feeling.

I love this space! This study/library expertly blends wood with light accents, artwork, and literature. Having the pop of white through the door and with the couch adds the perfect amount of brightness to counter all of the wood. The artwork around the door breaks up the wall nicely and creates visual interest.

This bedroom is incredibly luxe. The sleek black furniture mixes with crisp white creating a lovely combination. The deep wood paneling adds a brilliant warmth to the room. The molding and accent in design make this paneling feel especially high end and refined. This room would feel stark without the paneling, now – it has an underlying warmth.

Next up is a super modern living room with a hint of wood paneling. This space has a wonderful combination of lights, darks, and colors. The wood paneling gives a nice contrast and shadow to the room. I love the section of the white wall and the light wood coffee table. This space is a master at successfully using a hint of paneling to upgrade design.

This space is a bit more regal thanks to the architecture and grand desk. This office uses wood paneling to create emphasis and a darker mood that still has a warmth to it. The addition of colorful pattern rugs and a blue-toned chair make this space more interesting and keeps the darkness at bay.

Last up is a hallway that looks like it is straight out a museum. The wood paneling in this space is very detailed and grand. The addition of arches, columns, and artwork makes this space extra luxe. The teal curtains add a wonderful dash of color to balance all of the warmth. I love the intricacy of the ceiling and arches.

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
