A LITTLE GOOD LUCK IN THE FORM OF A CHAIR!

Small side chair with quatrefoil back, cream linen upholstery and an antique white finish from Mecox Gardens
Mecox Gardens Los Angeles – Cloverleaf Back Suzanne Chair – $1350 (Small side chair with quatrefoil back. Antique white finish. Cream off white linen upholstery)(above)

Have had a rough few weeks…lots of really good times and some very weird times too! I guess such is life. Have been feeling like I need a little luck on my side..well…errrr…maybe a lot of luck. Then I ran into this little side chair at Mecox Gardens in Los Angeles just yesterday. Now while I am not as superstitious to believe that anything involving a four leaf clover will instanteneously bring luck to anyone who touches it or gazes upon it or finds it, I did have a moment where I actually thought “Oh. Yippeeee…this is a sign…a four leaf clover back chair…how cute…maybe if I touch this, photograph this, post this, my luck will change!” Hmmm…

Needless to say, while I don’t know whether this chair is a luck changing find or just a cute piece of furniture or wonderful accent piece for the home, I thought I should post it just in case.

I love this chair with the quatrefoil back. Seems very French to me. Would, in fact, love to see this little chair in a guest bedroom next to a dresser or cabinet, two of them flanking a dark wood stained console table in an entry hall, or even four surrounding a white Saarinen table in a kitchen or breakfast nook dining area.

Wishing you all some good luck with this cute chair.

Please wish me a little luck too!

Heidi Caillier Design took this historic San Francisco home and layered floral wallpaper, striped drapery, checked linens, and antique textiles room after room without a single one feeling overdone. Marble mantels, gilt mirrors, brass fixtures, and warm wood floors do the quiet work of holding it all together.
This is what happens when “more” is chosen on purpose.

A great bathroom isn’t just functional, it’s the one room in the house that’s entirely yours. The stone you choose, the way light hits the fixtures, the tub you actually want to sit in. These are the ones that get it exactly right.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Here’s a little throwback toHappy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Here’s a little throwback to a Labor Day dinner party I hosted a few years ago, and honestly, we’d still do it this way. 🥂✨
Hosting this Labor Day? Keep it simple:
• Set the table with one statement detail + neutral basics
• Choose a menu you can prep ahead so you’re not cooking all night
• Add candles or flowers to make the table feel special
• Serve everything family-style for a more relaxed feel
• Don’t overthink it. The best dinners are the ones where everyone lingers a little longer 🤍
Save this for your next dinner party and send it to someone who’s hosting! 🍽️

The rooms that get it right pair it with something unexpected: a dramatic mural, an antique screen, a city skyline, a hand-laid mosaic floor.

A well-designed bunk room isn’t just for kids. It’s about making every guest feel like they got the best bed in the house. Built-in storage, thoughtful lighting, and bedding that actually makes you want to climb up top.
