A TWO TONED ENTRY WAY + A COCOCOZY GIVEAWAY!

May 13, 2011
  • Share
Black and white entry way with herringbone wood floor and a chandelier

As most of you may know Google’s Blogger platform went down for a day and erased most information going back to early Wednesday for most bloggers. Yikes. Was a bit stressful but less stressful knowing everyone was in the same boat.

This Blogger crash has meant five things for COCOCOZY!

1. My posts from yesterday are gone…I even forgot what they were for a moment there (short term memory…I can barely remember what just happened five minutes ago, let alone yesterday).  Lucky for me there’s COCOCOZY Facebook which just helped refresh my memory…maybe I can cobble that post back together again maybe. Oy…so much for moving forward in life. When Blogger goes down and loses all of one’s information…it means taking a bit of a step back…not the worst thing in life…I think we blogging types will survive…but still a step back…hmmmm…thanks Google!

2. Now that Blogger is back up, the good bloggers are revealed because they had already scheduled their posts or had content ready to go…I didn’t…hmmmm….grrrr….my procrastinating gene is exposed! Thanks again Google!

3.  I am bringing you this gorgeous entryway late in the day today!  So sorry.  Love it though…two tones and all.  Love the chair rail that separates the black painted bottom of the wall and the white top…best of best worlds.  It all works…chandelier, arched doorways, black and white walls and all!

4. All the readers who wanted to enter the fabulous first official COCOCOZY giveaway on uber blog Coco+Kelley couldn’t enter for the last day or so. And to make matters worse, well over 200 comments/entries on Coco+Kelley were lost in this Blogger crash…so if you entered any time after Wednesday morning, your entry is lost in cyberspace!

5. Good news is…you can still head over to fabulous Cassandra Lavalle’s mega interior design blog Coco+Kelley to enter for a chance to win a COCOCOZY Gate throw in navy OR a COCOCOZY Quatrefoil pillow in brown (see below)! Yippeeee!!!

Remember to enter that giveaway.  Lastly, as of today, the COCOCOZY Candle collection is up on the COCOCOZY Shop too!

Anyhooo…enough of my ramblings…back to design…what do you think of this entry hall? Like, love, detest or are indifferent?

Happy Friday!

xo
Coco

P.S. A huge thank you to amazing Los Angeles interior designer Hillary Thomas for mentioning COCOCOZY as one of her fave blogs on the Lucky Magazine site!  Hillary the feeling is mutual!

I have your post from Wednesday in Google Reader. I can send it over to you in case you don’t want to try “cobbling” the post back together. Let me know.

Hi Coco, when blogger went down it looked like it erased some posts, however they came back on my page and it looks like on your page as well from what I’ve seen since I’m always checking your page:) I think you might be good (I believe). None the less, I love this hall. I think hallways tend to get no love and it’s always nice when someone pays attention to all the details that make a space come together.

Such a crisp, tailored look – would love to have an area in my house like this.

Liking the entryway. Very classic. The only thing bothering me is that the black seems to be flat, and I’d like it more glossy. Maybe it’s just the photo, or maybe it’s just me. My favorite parts are the arches and the herringbone wood floor.

Heidi Caillier Design took this historic San Francisco home and layered floral wallpaper, striped drapery, checked linens, and antique textiles room after room without a single one feeling overdone. A great bathroom isn’t just functional, it’s the one room in the house that’s entirely yours. The stone you choose, the way light hits the fixtures, the tub you actually want to sit in. These are the ones that get it exactly right.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Here’s a little throwback toHappy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Here’s a little throwback to a Labor Day dinner party I hosted a few years ago, and honestly, we’d still do it this way. 🥂✨
Hosting this Labor Day? Keep it simple:
• Set the table with one statement detail + neutral basics
• Choose a menu you can prep ahead so you’re not cooking all night
• Add candles or flowers to make the table feel special
• Serve everything family-style for a more relaxed feel
• Don’t overthink it. The best dinners are the ones where everyone lingers a little longer 🤍
Save this for your next dinner party and send it to someone who’s hosting! 🍽️

The bouclé sofa isn’t a trend, it’s a commitment. The bouclé sofa isn’t a trend, it’s a commitment. Soft, sculptural, and impossible to walk past without wanting to sit down. The rooms that get it right pair it with something unexpected: a dramatic mural, an antique screen, a city skyline, a hand-laid mosaic floor.
