Lamps Plus Lights Up The COCOCOZY Design House

July 9, 2018
  • Share

Work on the COCOCOZY Design House continues.

Next step — lighting! This has been THE single most difficult design decision for this house by far. Lucky for me, Lamps Plus came on board to help me solve the dilemma. As one of our fabulous anchor partners in the COCOCOZY Design House project, Lamps Plus offered to give me lighting for all areas. Wait, what? All rooms and outdoor! Again, what?! All lighting! Yes.

Lamps Plus does have some brands they make themselves like Possini, Franklin Ironworks, 360 Lighting, John Timberland, and a few more… but in addition to those, they carry tens and tens of thousands of lights from other brands. I whittled down my selection after several visits to two different Lamps Plus stores here in Los Angeles. This was a real exercise in decision making!

Gorgeous Ways To Incorporate Spring Gray

April 5, 2018
  • Share

Spring days call for Spring Gray!

I keep spotting rooms, architecture, and home accessories with gray accents — and I just love how the typically-drab color is being used to make other colors (including white!) pop.

Incorporating gray can keep your space sleek, neutral, and of course, oh-so cozy!

See some of my favorite spaces for inspiration (below)!

How I Chose My Master Bedroom Rug

February 28, 2018
  • Share

Slowly but surely my room is coming together!

As you probably have experienced, picking out a rug is truly a process! For my bright master bedroom, I went back and forth between having a rug… having a colorful rug… or having no rug at all! Ultimately I decided on this muted grey COCOCOZY ring rug — and I couldn’t be happier!

I know, I know — straying away from a Moroccan or vintage worn Persian style rug is a design risk, but I’m choosing to step outside the box! This is me in 2018!

How To Create A Welcoming Guest Bedroom

February 15, 2018

Welcome to my guest bedroom!

I absolutely love having a special place for my visitors to stay — and I want to make sure they feel right at home while in town!

My intention was to create a warm and inviting room by having attention to detail but ultimately keeping things simple. So far I’ve gotten the stamp of approval from my mother and best friend — so that’s how I know the transformation was a success!

My Master Bedroom Bedding

September 27, 2017

I have been off the blogging grid for weeks!  Now I am back.  Basically, I have been running around getting settled in my house and having lots and lots of guests.  It has been so much fun.  After months and months of not having a place, it is so nice to settle in my lovely Spanish style home here in Beverly Hills (during my house hunt, a very stylish friend of mine at work said he imagined me living in Beverly Hills…he dreamed it and I made it happen!!).

Thanks to my sweet friend Hilde Leiaghat, owner of chic bedding line Pom Pom at Home, my master bedroom is becoming a serene dream. Overall, the decor for the room is still a work in progress. The bed, however, is fully and beautifully decked out with stunning linen bedding. Here’s how I got the bed of my dreams…

5 Cozy Bedroom Attic Lofts

May 4, 2017

In my search for inspiring attic bedroom transformations, I came across a blog called Adventures in Cooking. Blogger Eva Kosmas shared the before and after makeover of her master bedroom in her Pacific Northwest home, and I must say, the result is absolutely stunning. Eva managed to create a fresh and bright room that effortlessly combines modern style with a touch of rustic charm.

As I explored Eva’s blog post, I couldn’t help but fall in love with her attic bedroom and the cozy ambiance it exudes. It serves as a true testament to the potential of attic spaces, showcasing how they can be transformed into havens of comfort and style. But that’s not all—the blog post also features seven other cozy bedroom attic lofts, each with its own unique character and design approach. Honestly, I love this room and 4 other cozy bedroom attic lofts in this post!

Fanciful Bohemian Bedroom – Island Style

April 3, 2017
  • Share

Happy Monday!  I am back from my week long stay in the Dominican Republic with my good friends from New York and SFJ came out from L.A..  It was such a lovely dreamy spring break. If you have been following along in instagram (@cococozy) or Snapchat (cococozyblog), you have seen the play by play of my travels and stay at the Playa Grande Beach Club, a boutique hotel in the Dominican Republic. At this resort, there homes that are privately owned and there are also beautiful rentable bungalows.  My best of friend AM and her hubby JE happen to own one of the homes there so I am a very lucky recipient of their hospitality!

Anyhooo, one day while everyone was out at the pool (all kids and adults), I snuck inside AM’s island house and had a field day taking photos.  One of the delightful rooms is upstairs…it is a fanciful bohemian bedroom – a twin room with an island style twist.

A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not overpowering, just enough to warm everything up, walls, upholstery, even the smallest details.
It shifts the mood completely. Calmer, softer, and a little more lived in.

What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so hard to look away from is the deliberate clash Sophie Dries @sophiedries_ created and didn’t try to resolve.
The bones of the apartment are pure Haussmann: ornate cornicing, carved boiserie, a marble fireplace with a gilded mirror. Everything a 19th-century Parisian apartment should be. Then she placed a near-black dining table with brass-legged stools into the middle of it. A raw concrete-look bathroom behind the grandeur. Dark, sculptural objects on surfaces that were built for delicate things.
It works because she didn’t try to blend the two, she let them sit in contrast. The apartment feels lived-in and specific because of it.
→ Save this if you’re mixing old architecture with contemporary furniture.

Are you into paper lanterns, or do you prefer a more structured statement light? 🧐

Streets of #Paris. 📍 Rue de Castiglione — Laid ouStreets of #Paris. 📍
Rue de Castiglione — Laid out under Napoleon in the early 1800s, this neoclassical street connects Place Vendôme to the Tuileries Garden in one clean, symmetrical line.
Place de Furstenberg — A tucked-away square in Saint-Germain-des-Prés that was once home to the painter Eugène Delacroix, and still feels like little has changed.
Les Antiquaires on Rue du Bac — A street with centuries of history, now best known for its cluster of antique dealers trading in furniture, paintings, and curiosities and home to @les_antiquaires_paris bistro which is an easy spot to grab a bite near the Seine.
Musée du Louvre — Built as a medieval fortress in the 12th century, it became a royal palace, then the world’s most visited museum, home to the Mona Lisa and tens of thousands of other works.
Église Saint-Sulpice — Paris’s second-largest church, with a gnomon installed inside to track the sun’s position and help calculate the liturgical calendar.
Les Deux Magots — The Saint-Germain café where Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre, and Hemingway once gathered, and a lasting symbol of Paris’s literary culture.
Place Vendôme — Commissioned under Louis XIV, this octagonal square is anchored by the Vendôme Column, cast from cannons captured at the Battle of Austerlitz.
Shops, people, and buildings that make you stop for a second and look up. Every corner feels different. Old, detailed, and full of life. Sometimes this is the best part. Just being here. ❤️

Nour Arida’s (@nouraridaofficial) Paris apartment Nour Arida’s (@nouraridaofficial) Paris apartment was designed to feel like a little piece of Beirut — a pied-à-terre that keeps her connected to Lebanon while living in France.
Architect Carl Gerges @carlgergesarchitects built the whole interior around warmth and softness: a caramel sofa, a pink kitchen, milky whites throughout. Nothing sharp, nothing cold. The palette reads as indulgent without trying. It’s the kind of space that feels like it was chosen for comfort first and aesthetics second, even though both are clearly considered.
What’s easy to miss is the restraint underneath it all. The softness works because it’s disciplined. Every piece earns its place in the same tonal story.
→ Save this if you’re building a warm, tonal interior from scratch.
