December 13, 2019

Get ready to tour a STUNNING Park Ave Apartment in NYC. These contemporary interiors are drool-worthy and will inspire you to update your home pronto. The color palette is beyond words and looks amazing room to room. Plus there is outfit inspiration for each room in this apartment that will make you wish you had an event to attend in this incredible apartment – or better yet, live in it!

THE KITCHEN

share

This kitchen is beautifully minimal. The white walls and cabinets are balanced by the gold hardware. The stove is the perfect array of colors. I love the choice of combining white, stainless steel, black, and gold. The marble backsplash is a nice textural addition while the flowers add the perfect touch of color. I would love to whip up a meal in this kitchen.

Dress 1, Dress 2

First up, in the fashion department are some gorgeous dresses perfect for hosting an afternoon lunch. I can see both of these dresses being worn to cook in this glamorous kitchen. The first dress is a lovely fall color that would look brilliant on anyone. I love the shape throughout the sleeves and skirt. The second dress is a bit wilder and is a colorful print. This is a great option for someone who loves to make bolder fashion choices but it still looking for an upscale look.

THE DINING ROOM

share

Now we are on to the dining room – one of my favorite rooms in this apartment. First of all, this wallpaper is simply divine! The intricacy and pastel nature looks incredible in this room with the mix of sunlight and furniture. The floral arrangement and light fixture are both great additions to this space – as are the dining room table set and throw pillow assortment.

Dress 1, Dress 2

For hosting in such a whimsical room I pulled two dresses that are formal enough for a lunch or dinner party while still adding in some fun colors + shapes. The first dress is a stunning blush tulle fabric covered in floral details. This dress looks like it was created to be worn in this dining room. The second dress is a bit simpler in a wonderful light blue shade. This simple silhouette is infinitely classic. The addition of the slight puff lace sleeves add a touch of style to this dress.

LOUNGING SOFA

share

Now on to a super chic and relaxing section of the apartment – this luxe sitting area. I’m in love with the shape + color of this sofa as well as the addition of throw pillows. The sunlight in this room is incredible and really lets this sofa shine. I can imagine hosting guests for a cocktail hour in this beautiful space before dinner is ready!

Jumpsuit 1, Jumpsuit 2

For this space, I pulled two super luxe looking jumpsuits. They are perfect for a cocktail hour or a wine and cheese party. The first jumpsuit is a bit dressier and comes in a lovely satin print that glistens perfectly in candlelight. The one-shoulder adds the perfect neckline detail that is balanced by the wide leg. The second option is a super fun rose pink denim jumpsuit. This is a bit more casual but infinitely chic. I’m all about this puff sleeve, cinched waist, and collar combination.

THE LIVING ROOM

share

The living room is where this Park Ave Apartment starts to get interesting. The assortment of furniture styles, colors, and shapes meld together in an impossibly cool way. I’m in awe of that light fixture and am drooling about this color palette. Not to forget, this room gets great sunlight that casts this room in the perfect shade. Can I steel those chairs and coffee table?

Dress, Top, Skirt

For the first side of the living room, I pulled some business casual looks that have a ton of whimsey and play with a fun color palette. First up is a gorgeous green and purple printed dress. This dress is the perfect mix of playful and profession meets modern thanks to the sleeve detail. The second look is a play on the color palette that would make for an equally unique + interesting look. I love the idea of pairing a blue collared shirt with a warm-toned silk skirt.

Next up is the second view of the living room. This space is super luxe thanks to the chairs and gold shelf. The openness of the shelf keeps this room from feeling heavy. The rug adds a wonderful sense of texture + pattern to this space while playing on shape vs. color. Plus that super modern chair in the corner is stunning in the light.

Top 1, Trouser 1, Top 2, Trouser 2

For the second part of the living room, I pulled two super chic looks perfect for entertaining for the evening. The first look is a stunning pink color that would look great in this space. The wide-leg white trousers are a fun and unusual twist to this look. This look is light + airy while still packing color and a quirkiness factor. The second look is all elegance and glam. The navy top is so luxurious and the style is incredible. The wide-leg neutral pants are super sleek while adding another fun detail to the look.

THE DEN

share

Now onto the cozy den. This room is very cozy while still having a quirkiness factor thanks to the gallery style wall and use of pattern. I love the mix of patterns between the wallpaper, throw pillows and rug. It creates common chaos that works well together. Plus that ottoman adds a wonderful texture.

Top, Trouser, Dress

For this room, I selected two outfits that are more casual that could still be worn for entertaining. The first look pairs an upscale silky top with a washed black straight leg jeans. This is the perfect combo between casual and dressy. Plus this color combo works on anyone. The second look is a classic button-up dress in a dark khaki color. I love the belted detail and midi length paired with a short sleeve. Classic, casual, but still put together.

OFFICE

share

Meet the home office. A wonderful room ready for a creative to get to work. The wallpaper in this room is amazing! It’s paired perfectly with hints of gold on the shelves and desk. This little corner spot is small but packs a lot of whimsy. The floating shelves were a great solution for this space.

Top 1, Jean, Top 2, Trouser

For this space, I selected some casual work from home office wear looks. The first option is a common uniform look. A white button-down and blue jeans are a look that will never go out of style. I love this color of denim and the oversized nature of the shirt. The second look is a bit dressier – cashmere sweater and grey plaid trousers. I love this as a business/casual look.

LOUNGING WINDOW SEAT

share

Next up in this stunning apartment is a cozy little nook. This sitting area is perfect for a relaxing morning with a good book and a cup of tea. I can imagine lounging here on a Sunday morning or a rainy afternoon. The muted colors keep this space calm and relaxing. The range of throw pillows are a great addition.

share

Top 1, Jean, Top 2, Sweatpant

This spot is 100% for casual and comfy clothes only. First up is an ultra-cozy look for hanging out at home. A thick and cozy sweater + a mid-blue-toned pair of straight leg denim. This look is so simple but so chic. The second look is for a Sunday morning at home. A cozy cashmere duo paired for maximum comfort and style.

BEDROOM

share

The last spot in this home is the bedroom. I love the more classic approach to a bedroom while pairing white with light blue. This room is ultra-calming and made for resting. The pattern in the headboard is a brilliant detail that takes this room to the next level.

share

Pajama top, Pajama bottom, Pajama set

For the bedroom – two cozy pajama sets. The first pair is a luxe oversized white set. This is a soft cotton fabric made for lounging. The second option is a linen blend with a subtle striped pattern. No matter what both of these sets would look amazing in this room.

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming
“Be patient with yourself it has been a funky fe “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky few months in the world.” My friend Manon texted this advice to me today. She is right. A little patience and a lot of kindness to yourself and to others during these unusual times will go a long way.

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
