Social Primer is one of my favorite blogs; it is written by friend, style guru and etiquette maven K. Cooper Ray (whose alter ego is SP). Social Primer is a great guide to all things appropriate for the modern man and also has some great social etiquette tips that apply to women. For example, see an SP article about the party Conversation Hog…I took a personal cue or two from this sassy but instructive post which basically told social people like me to stop hogging the conversation at parties. Hmmm….thanks to SP, I read, I stopped hogging and now I listen (errr…well I should say I listen more…still find myself jabbering away from time to time and when I come up for air also notice the my party audience has been lulled into a numb trance of sorts….).
Anyhoooo….last month, Cooper opened a wonderful new shop on North Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood called Social Primer: The Shop – a pop up shop inside flower boutique Lily Lodge. It is at this new little store, one can find the perfect gift for the civilized man in your life. From books, old-fashioned high-ball glasses, cuff links, signet rings, fine art, and even riding boots, this little shop has anything and everything you might want to give to a distinguished gentleman (if the gentlemen you know are not distinguished or at all refined, have them read Cooper’s blog, transform themselves and then offer them a gift from the cute shop).
The store also offers a variety of made-to-order offerings includes monogrammed stationery, playing cards, cocktail napkins, soaps, and handkerchiefs.
I’m having lunch with Cooper (SP) next week right near his shop…can’t wait to browse!
