WEEKEND PHOTO IN NEW YORK!

September 10, 2011

Ornamental cabbage or kale in the flower district in New York City

Took this photo in the flower district in New York last month. Don’t know what type of flowers these are but I loved them.  To me they look like cabbage leaves…but I’m sure I’m wrong.  Right?

Any one of you garden gurus know what these are?  If you know…please comment below.

Hope you have fun plans for this weekend.  I had a nice dinner last night at a new hotel in Los Angeles.  Will tell you scoop later.  Have an art event tonight and need to go try to get my dress for the Emmy Awards tailored!  The Emmy Awards are next weekend.  Did I mention I am going?!?  Woohoo!!!  Debating between two dresses and need to get the second one done before deciding.

Anyhooooo….good weekend to you!

Happy Saturday!

Looks like some kind of cabbage to me, cabbage can be very ornamental, maybe it’s a pale version of kale 🙂

I also vote for some variety of ornamental cabbage. Love to mix veggies with flowers though!

It’s ornamental kale. Don’t know about over there, but here in Australia it’s quite commonly used in floral arrangements.

    Hi
My name is Dale and I live in Australia.
We have plants very similar to this one is various colours, we call them Ornamental Cabbage. They grow medium size with the shape of a cabbage minus the vegie inside.

I actually have the colour you love growing. It was in a flower arrangement that I purchased for My Mum & Dad’s graveside.

Don’t know what they are, but they would make a REALLY fantastic centerpiece!

Too bad the Emmy’s are so soon – I would offer to make you some bling! 🙂

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
